123 King Street - Parr Division
Ephraim Willard and his wife Elizabeth emigrated to St. Andrews from the Weymouth area of Massachusetts and purchased this lot in 1820 for $260. They had nine children – four boys and five girls – all believed to have been born here. One of their children, Orissa Atherton Willard, married Adam Williamson Smith of St. Andrews. Adam Smith was the Editor of the St. Andrews Standard, a newspaper established by his father George Neilson Smith.
The property was sold to George Durel Grimmer in 1883 and remained in the Grimmer family until 1928 when it was sold to Dr. H. Pius O’Neill, a St. Andrews physician.
