139 Water Street - Bulkley Division
The March 31st, 1887 Bay Pilot newspaper stridently stated “There is one man in St. Andrews who has confidence in the future of the town, and that is Mr. B. F. DeWolfe. This he has proved by the erection of a splendid building, an ornament to Water Street, and in which to carry on his rapidly increasing business.” The 86-feet long by 27-feet wide wood frame building had a store on the ground floor and a spacious storage room above to service his grocery and dry goods business. Since 1967, Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre has called this building home.
This building was entirely renovated, in character, in 2014-2015.
