The Saint Andrews Civic Trust is excited to reveal its new brand and website designed to build awareness of the trust and its role as well as to educate and inform locals and visitors of the many stories and heritage places within Saint Andrews. The new site was officially launched on Friday the 26th of May.

The new branding and website were created by Mr. James Geneau, a new resident of Saint Andrews and volunteer at the trust with more than 25 years of marketing experience and more than 20 years of volunteer board experience in heritage advocacy. The new logo is a modern and minimalist representation of the Pendlebury Lighthouse, which was saved and restored by the Saint Andrews Civic Trust in the early 2000s. It is designed to be bolder and more modern, to revitalize minds and inspire a whole new generation interested in history and heritage preservation.

Complimenting the new branding is a new website offering details on the architectural significance and related stories of the past residents or proprietors of more than 70 heritage homes and estates, 35 local businesses, and 14 civic spaces. All of which are recognized as being part of the Saint Andrews National Historic District. Each property has images, a map, and the stories of the original owners and some rather famous visitors who may have stayed there. It also explains the architectural style of the home and includes all the design elements of significance.

“We are so excited by the new branding and website - especially the possibilities it brings for the future for the society” commented Barbie Smith, President of the Saint Andrews Civic Trust. “James spent over a year cataloguing and digitizing every record, volunteering his evenings and weekends. This new site means we can share the historic stories of Saint Andrews with a much larger audience and attract even more people to our beautiful town. The refreshed brand he developed is also important because it aligns with the fresh ideas and thinking we are seeing from countless newcomers to our town, who are making it flourish and take real pride in its history.”

In addition to the brand and website, the Saint Andrews Civic Trust has made its first leap onto social media, launching an Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter account. These new channels will be where the trust plans to share stories, historic pictures, and more related to the rich history of beautiful Saint Andrews-by-the-Sea. Those interested in learning more about the new website and the work of the society can do so at the upcoming Open House being held at the Charlotte County Courthouse on Sunday afternoon, June 4th, from 2 – 4pm.
